We’re Packet People
25 Years of Building Networks Together
To bridge this gap, we created our framework platform — a combination of commodity silicon and open-source software for stateful programmable applications. We’ve had the privilege of collaborating with industry visionaries in programmable networks and security.
The Quantum Framework is the product of that experience and expertise. We built the platform we wished existed when we were building network applications — a production-ready VPP foundation that lets engineering teams focus on differentiation, not infrastructure.
We work at the intersection of programmable networking, security, and carrier infrastructure. Our customers are the companies and agencies building and operating the networks that matter — from OEMs shipping security appliances to telcos managing intercept requirements to government agencies who need packet-level control at scale.
Build Cool Things With Cool Tools
We love to build cool things using cool tools — and chances are you’re here because you do too. The name BlueDot is a play on the famous “blue marble” photo taken by the astronauts. At BlueDot Insight we see SDN technology creating a new perspective on networking. We adopted BlueDot Insight as an analogy to rapid change and new insights.
An Ecosystem of Developers
To create an ecosystem of developers as excited as we are about transformative technology that disrupts the economics of several key markets. At BlueDot Insight we want to foster that development through training, code examples, consulting services, and the Quantum Framework — the production-ready VPP platform we wished existed years ago.
The Timing Is Right
Standard x86 Has Caught Up
Modern multi-core COTS servers can sustain 100G to 400G line rate processing with the right software stack. The performance justification for proprietary ASICs is eroding fast.
VPP Has Matured
The Vector Packet Processing framework is proven in production at scale. But the gap between “VPP works” and “our product ships” is still enormous — and that’s exactly what BlueDot fills.
The Threat Landscape Won’t Wait
DDoS attacks, intercept requirements, and traffic volumes are all growing faster than proprietary hardware roadmaps. Programmable, software-defined forwarding is the only architecture that keeps pace.
