The bottom line

Small ISPs and WISPs are Ethernet-and-IP native. They never carried the DSL-era PPPoE baggage the incumbents were built to preserve, and they don't have the engineering bench to turn a general-purpose OS into a production BNG. The generalist asks them to become their own vendor. The incumbent asks them to buy a carrier's network. Quantum IPoE BNG asks neither. It is the one tool, sharpened — carrier-grade IPoE subscriber management at a cost and complexity a small operator can actually sustain, from a vendor small enough to treat them as the customer that matters.
