Overview
The box becomes the system of record, and the console operates it.
The alpha staged two capabilities it could not use: capacity licensing, with a
page that displayed a licence but could not activate one, and usage records
that were held but never produced from live traffic. Both are complete in GA.
Three further capabilities arrive with them. Local AAA becomes the
authoritative subscriber store rather than a mirror of controller
configuration, with enforcement overlays that converge on every reconcile pass.
Data-cap enforcement is delivered end to end, from the policy an operator
sets to the rate applied on the wire. And accounting no longer depends on the
browser: a background service drains the controller's spool into a durable
local ledger every 30 seconds, where records were previously drained only while
a page was open.
The console also adds what an operator needs when something is wrong — a
single-action support bundle that opens with a written summary, and health
reporting that states how often the dataplane connection has dropped rather than
only whether it is currently up.
